The Juntetsu Rose is a limited edition Japanese VG-10 cutting shear with a subtle sword-profile blade, a convex edge, and a signature rose tension screw. It has a 3D offset handle and is available in 5.5 and 6.5 inch sizes for right-handed cutting.
The Rose is a limited edition piece that brings a little artistry to a working shear. The rose-shaped tension screw at the pivot is its signature, set against a bright polished finish and a contoured 3D offset handle built for comfort through a full day of cutting.
Each pair is tested by an expert craftsperson in Japan before it ships, checked for edge, balance and smooth action so it performs to standard out of the box. As a limited edition, it is made in smaller numbers than the core range.
VG-10 is a Japanese high-carbon stainless steel valued for edge retention and corrosion resistance, hardened here to around 60-61 HRC. The blade is ground with a subtle sword profile and a hand-honed convex edge, so it stays precise in the hand and cuts cleanly through wet or dry hair for slice cutting, point cutting and blunt cutting.
The 3D offset handle is contoured so the thumb and fingers sit in a natural, relaxed position, which lowers the wrist rotation and thumb strain that build up over a long shift. A finger rest helps steady longer sessions and lets you balance the shear to your grip.
The 5.5 inch suits precision and detail work and smaller hands. The 6.5 inch gives extra reach and leverage for all-round cutting, shear-over-comb and barbering.

Wipe the blades clean and dry after each client and add a drop of shear oil at the pivot regularly. Convex edges should only be sharpened by a sharpener trained on convex blades, never on a flat-hone service.
