The Cobalt Vertex features what Japanese scissor masters call the YKC design—a specialized hybrid blade that combines two traditional cutting edge styles in one revolutionary design.

"Been testing these Vertex shears for about 3 months now in my barbershop. Got to say, I was skeptical about the 'slide cutting blade' thing, but it actually makes a difference.
I do alot of different cutting styles throughout the day—everything from skin fades to longer textured cuts—and these handle pretty much everything I throw at them. The slide cutting is where they really shine though. So smooth through the hair, especially when I'm doing point cutting or texturizing work.
The cobalt steel is the real deal. Still crazy sharp after daily use, and I haven't had to adjust the tension much at all. They just stay where you set them, which is rare in my experience.
They're definitely on the premium side, but not ridiculous like some Japanese shears I've tried. For what you get—that versatility and quality—they're worth it. I went with the 6.0" and it's become my go-to for most cuts.
All those extras are actually useful too—not just throwaway accessories. That texturizing razor is legit, and the carbon fiber comb is now the only one I use.

Before judging sharpness, check the tension. New professional shears can feel loose or tight after shipping, and a small tension adjustment often fixes hair folding, pushing or uneven cutting.
Clean and dry the blades after use, oil the pivot area, and avoid cutting paper, fabric, plastic, wire or anything other than hair. Use a professional sharpener familiar with hair shears.

Bought Ichiro scissors a couple years ago. I’m ready for a Japanese made one. I’ve decided on Juntetsu and lucky me it was on sale and fit my budget. It’s definitely a step up from my previous scissors. It cuts very clean (wet cutting); I can see the difference after the hair dries- more neat.
Love the pouch that comes with it. I don’t regret buying this. And this company has been my go to for hair shears.
Love my new shears. The color is beautiful, slightly more gold than rose which I am perfectly happy about. My only complaint is that I feel like the end of the shears aren't quite as sharp, but they may just need to be tightened slightly.
I owned three pairs of “Sword” scissors. Kamisori, sensei Fit and now Juntetsu.
I like the smooth cutting feeling of Kamisori. It lasts 5 years. Sensei Fit seems more durable but it isn’t as sharp and smooth as the others. I don’t know how durable this pair of shear last. I purchased it last week. It cuts sharp and smooth. Slightly sharper than Kamisori. They are all very light and balanced shears
Bought these to reduce the strain with the heavy pairs but I was worried it would be too light and not cut. Leave it to Japan to make something half the weight and twice the strength and cutting performance . Balance is top notch . Has made in japan so you known it’s real
Been using Juntetsu since 2019! Just replaced my 6.0” pair I dropped. You can totally get 5000 cuts from these. Japanese shears are the only choice. The best
literally just finished my first full day with these and im in love 😍 was nervous about the 7 inch length coming from 5.5 but it actually makes sectioning so much faster! did 3 fades today and my hand doesn’t even hurt. Arrived fast too 👍

Still pretty new to the game but my mentor told me to invest in good shears early. These VG10s were def a budget stretch. but what a difference. Only been using them about 3 months but they're still crazy sharp. Gonna be my main shears for sure.
Saturday order received on Friday in SG. It wasn't as good as I had hoped. My old scissors was pulling hair as I thinned the hair roots hair and cutting my hair shorter as well. I'm not sure if it's intended to be this way. The new pair of scissors are worth the cost to have this kind of high-end quality. I am happy with the silky smooth and thinning motion.
Super light! I have been a barber for 5+ years and I am honestly surprised by how light and sturdy these are. Sharp cuts, but the big win for me is lightweight and good ergonomics for my wrist and elbow.

Not as sharp as I thought they would be. I can hear the cutting which leads me to believe they are dull. When I cut the hair I should not hear the blade cut the hair, it should be smooth and quiet.
