Why This Is Happening
It's the law: U.S. government has adjusted tariffs on all Japanese imports, and also stopped the de minimis for smaller imports.
Not just us: Every company importing Japanese products is affected
Can't avoid it: These are government fees, not optional costs.
What This Means for You
- Japanese scissors will cost more (amount To Be Decided)
- The price increase will account for the new tariff fees, but our team will work towards reducing the impact
- Orders before Aug 29 keep current prices
- We'll update you when final pricing is set
What We're Doing
We have fought inflation since and after COVID in 2020, including avoiding price increases with logistics and other increases. The new government tariffs have a bigger impact. Currently we are:
- Calculating and trying to understand the specific increases, including recent and upcoming processing fees, tariffs, etc.
- Negotiating with suppliers and logistics
- Looking at different approaches to reduce the impact on our customers
